With a solid understanding of its customers’ business, MacGREGOR launched a multi-level service programme called MacGREGOR Onboard Care (MOC) as an efficient and flexible solution to servicing the moving equipment of ship owners.
Each MOC maintenance bundle is based on one of four levels: Basic, Enhanced, Special and Total Onboard Care. MacGREGOR helps owners identify the most appropriate level for each ship’s specific needs.
The knowledge required in equipment servicing and the importance of planning regular maintenance is essential in ensuring that equipment on board a ship is available and working when it is needed. With a MOC agreement, customers can expect maintenance services from highly skilled service engineers, periodic inspections and reports, 24-hour/7 days a week emergency phone assistance, and support from MacGREGOR’s global service network.
“We have many customers who have taken out our various onboard care packages across the world,” says Björn Stenwall, marketing and sales director of the Service division. To date there are over 400 ships benefiting from MOC agreements. “Very often shipowners only want MacGREGOR to take care of key individual pieces of equipment or a specific aspect of a system, as ensuring that this work is critical to the vessel’s uninterrupted operation.”
