Russia’s capital will be host to the Russian and international transport business again from April 27 to 30. Around 450 exhibitors from over 30 countries will be represented at the Expocentr on Krasnaya Presnya. About 28,000 visitors are expected to attend Russia’s most important transportation trade fair.
Port of Hamburg Marketing e.V. (HHM) will be represented for the eleventh time in Moscow at a large joint stand (Pavillion 8, Hall 2, Stand C113). The partner companies Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH, Buss Group GmbH & Co. KG, CBT Logistics GmbH, Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA), POLZUG Intermodal GmbH and TCI International Logistics GmbH will be exhibiting at the stand together with Port of Hamburg Marketing.
Russia is a particularly important market for the Port of Hamburg and the seaport and transportation sector. In 2009, around 329,000 TEU (20-foot standard containers) were shipped between Hamburg and the Russian Federation. That makes Russia the third most important trade partner for container transport, following the Peoples’ Republic of China and Singapore. The Russian Federation is among Hamburg’s leading trade partners for conventional cargo, as well, for example for iron and steel, wood pulp, and machinery. Around 35 feeder ships depart from Hamburg for Russian ports each week. Many containers are transported by trucks and railways, as well. Additional cargo is shipped to Russia in transit traffic via the neighboring countries of Finland and the Baltic states.
Since May of 2003, Port of Hamburg Marketing has been represented on the Russian market with its own office in St. Petersburg, managed by Natalia Kapkajewa. The office carries out a wide range of activities in the interest of the Hamburg port sector and the neighboring ports in the larger metropolitan area, including marketing, establishing business contacts, and organizing events in Russia.
