Maritime Security & Defence 2008 ‑ a great success for organiser and participants
Top marks for the first International Maritime Security & Defence Conference (MS&D 2008)! It was held concurrently with the world’s leading shipbuilding fair SMM in Hamburg, with participation of some 200 delegates from 20 nations, and numerous high-ranking representatives of navies from various parts of the world. This two-day conference was arranged by Hamburg Messe & Congress GmbH and the Bonn-based publishing house Mönch Verlag, represented by Naval Forces. It addressed the most pressing problems of shipping ‑ piracy and terrorist threats. There were outstanding international speakers, specifically targeting the political, maritime strategy and industrial aspects. The conference not only identified and analysed problems, but also offered concrete solutions ‑ a unique combination, which makes MS&D stand out from other security conferences.
MS&D 2009 ‑ a unique forum for maritime security and defence
Demand is strong ‑ that was evident at the specialist conference on Maritime Security & Defence 2008. That is why MS&D will be held every second year from 2009 onwards, alternating with SMM, as a three-day international conference with accompanying exhibition in Hamburg. The exhibition will be held from 6 to 8 October 2009, featuring companies specialised in Maritime Security & Defence.
