MTG offers a wide range of services related to warships for acquisition, design and consultancy. As a hardware impartial organisation, the activities are focused on the initial phases of a ship acquisition programme where the matching of user requirements with realistic, feasible and affordable solutions is made.

Die MTG bietet eine fachgerechte Beratung für die Beschaffung und den Entwurf von Marineschiffen an. Der Leistungsschwerpunkt ist auf die ersten Phasen der Beschaffung von Marineschiffen gerich-tet, in denen der Abgleich zwischen Forderungen des zukünftigen Nutzers mit realistischen, machba-ren und bezahlbaren Lösungen erfolgen muss.
Die Kernfähigkeit der MTG liegt in der Erfassung der Nutzerforderungen und deren Umsetzung in erprobungsfähige quantifizierbare Systemanforderungen als Basis für weitere Arbeiten im Beschaf-fungsprozess von Marineschiffen. Dazu gehören die Erarbeitung möglicher technischer Lösungen mit Auswahl der Komponenten, das Entwickeln der technischen und militärischen Systemleistungen und die Beurteilung der entwurfsbeherrschenden Kosten-Effektivität.
Wesentliche Ergebnisse dieser Arbeiten sind Kriegsschiffentwürfe mit technischen Spezifikationen auf System- und Geräteebene. Sie werden ergänzt durch Managementleistungen wie Kostenermittlung, Terminplanung und Bestimmung der logistischen Erfordernisse für den gesamten Lebensweg. Dar-über hinaus ist die MTG an F&T-Vorhaben auf dem Gebiet mariner Technologien sowie an systemati-schen Auswertungen von Messfahrten und Versuchen beteiligt.
