Beschreibung
Due to a recent increase in piracy and geopolitical instabilities the importance and growth of marine traffic is in severe danger. Safe sea lines of communication (SLOC) are of utmost importance for the economic development and stability not only for industrialized nations but also for threshold and developing countries. At the same time the vulnerability of SLOC has dramatically increased by pirates that are most modernly equipped and by instable local political conditions.
In this first round of interviews experts will discuss the extent and varieties of piracy. Questions concerning the range of economic risks, useful strategies against piracy and naval security options will form the core of discussions. A look at the way ahead for the next 5 to 10 years will close this first round.
